Clinical Assistant in Home / School Based
Melissa started working at Colorado Behavior and Learning Group as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in July 2020. Her first experience in the behavior field was as a paraprofessional in three different special needs classrooms from 2014-2017. She obtained her RBT certification in 2015 and proceeded to go to school at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. In May 2019, Melissa achieved a degree in Psychology with a minor in American Sign Language.
With her newfound passion, Melissa pursues her master’s degree in Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis at Arizona State University and completes the degree in August 2021. She also became a Qualified Autism Service Practitioner-Supervisor (QASP-S) in June 2022 and plans to take the BCBA exam sometime in the summer of 2023.
Melissa is a native of Colorado Springs and enjoys the outdoors with her husband and two dogs. If she is not lost in the Colorado scenery, she is on the couch with her cat, binged watching The Real Housewives series or keeping up her sign language skills with Deaf vlogs. She strives to provide support and inclusiveness to all her clients in any environment!
